Sharlisa Taylor, 30, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to control and making false alarms.

She called police at about 10 a.m. Monday and said somebody hit her parked car in the 1100 block of Buckingham St.

Police noticed heavy damage to the left side of the vehicle, and they also noticed the driver's side mirror had been snapped off and was nowhere to be found.

"I asked Shalisa what happened to the mirror, with her advising the driver of the other vehicle must have picked it up and took it," a Sandusky officer's report stated.

Officers knew there was a hit-skip wreck at Milan Road and Butler Street about three hours earlier. They drove back and retrieved a mirror that had been knocked off the suspect car.

It was a perfect match to Taylor's vehicle, according to the report.

"The mirror was compared to the passenger side mirror and they matched," the report said. "I then checked if the mirror fit the space for the driver side mirror with it fitting."

Taylor then said she dropped her child off at Hancock Elementary School earlier that morning, and on her way back she hit the median. She denied striking a truck.

Police issued her copies of her citations then cut her loose. They bagged the broken mirror and logged it into evidence.

You can't fix stupid! But you can fix the mirror!

Not Yer Pa

Hopefully Sharlisa is done breeding.

Darn I fogots about the mirror.

2cents's picture

About ten years ago I had a drunk driver come into my lane and sideswipe me, he took off and as it turned out, he disappeared just down the road and hid in his garage. He left his mirror and with the traceability that ISO allows I just about found him and then a body shop in another city called the police thinking his damage was suspicious. Ironically nothing happened to him, he was a truck driver and would lose his CDL if he stuck around so he left and was only fined for leaving the scene! Figures….
