For his part, Carruthers, 49, of Sandusky, is on the road to recovery at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

Police said there's a "person of interest," but refused to elaborate.

Carruthers was shot three times at about 6:12 p.m. at a self-serve car wash in the 500 block of W. Perkins Ave. He suffered at least one gunshot wound to the chest, police said.

Perkins police Chief Ken Klamar, who at the time was off duty and loading groceries into his car at a nearby store, called 911 after he heard three gunshots.

About nine minutes later an employee at Firelands Counseling and Recovery Center, in the 1900 block of Hayes Ave., called 911 after Carruthers came stumbling into the office.

Just a question, Klamar heard 3 gun shots. The victim was shot 3 times. Clearly there was a gun shot in the trunk of the car, so that would make atleast 4shots correct? Did Klamar mistake how many or is the trunk bullet hole from a different time?

good question

the shot in the truck was when he pulled out of the car wash bay to get away

Does this mean that Carruthers does not know the man who shot him? (yeah right) or that the police have yet to locate him?

I chose door number 2, which I bet the guy took last night to get the heck out of here to wherever he ran to feel safe. You can bet this guy isn't going to stick around Sandusky just waiting for the police to politely come knocking on his door.

I just don't understand with all the violence in town why we pay the police and the sheriff dept to run up and down cleveland road on the east side to try to catch someone going over the speed limit. Is the revenue of speeders worth more then the life of someone we need them to patrol in town and maybe this would deeter some violence

Lets hear the 911 call!

IMO both of them know who the shooter is. Neither one of them will talk because of retaliation for talking. If the shooter doesn't get them, his friends will
