MILESTONES

Ashley Gilbert (Sandusky 2011) collected All-Ohio Athletic Conference second team in women’s softball for Muskingum University, the conference announced on May 3. For the season, the junior pitcher posted a 10-5 record en route to leading Muskingum University to finish 25-16 and 12-6 in Ohio Athletic Conference play. Overall, she tallied 25 appearances and 19 starts to add two saves, nine complete games, 111 2/3 innings, 73 strikeouts and a 3.01 ERA.

BASEBALL

Xavier Turner (Sandusky 2012) batted 1 for 3 with two RBIs and one run scored for No. 10 Vanderbilt University (38-14, 16-11 Southeastern Conference) in a 16-2 victory at No. 11 University of Florida (34-18, 19-8 Southeastern Conference) on May 10 in Gainesville, Fla. For the season, the infielder compiles 49 appearances and 48 starts to deliver 30 RBIs, 28 runs scored, 14 doubles, 11 walks, 10 stolen bases, two home runs and a.297 batting average.

•Taylor Emody (Edison 2010) finished 1 for 3 with one run scored and one RBI for Ohio University (11-36, 7-17 Mid-American Conference) in an 11-4 loss at Bowling Green State University (23-23, 13-11 Mid-American Conference) on May 9 in Bowling Green. For the season, the infielder tallies 35 appearances and 30 starts to contribute 12 RBIs, seven runs scored, six walks, five doubles, two stolen bases and a .206 batting average.

•Trey Keegan (Sandusky 2012) totals 23 appearances and 17 starts as an outfielder for Bowling Green State University to provide 10 runs scored, eight walks, seven RBIs, three doubles, one home run and a .242 batting average.

•Addison Rospert (Port Clinton 2013) tallies eight appearances and two starts at various positions for Bowling Green State University to deliver five runs scored, two doubles and a .313 batting average. n Cody Koch (Perkins 2009) scored one run and batted 1 for 3 for Kent State University (30-20, 14-10 Mid-American Conference) in a 9-8 loss at Ball State University (35-16, 19-4 Mid-American Conference) on May 11 in Muncie, Ind. For the season, the infielder leads the Golden Flashes in runs (47) and RBIs (46). Overall, he tallies 50 starts to contribute 25 walks, nine doubles, eight stolen bases, six home runs, two triples and a .328 batting average.

•Spencer Bryant (Perkins 2010) adds nine appearances for Kent State University to deliver one save, 8 1/3 innings, six strikeouts and a 3.24 ERA. 

•Cory Brown (Port Clinton 2011) finished 3 for 5 with one run scored and one RBI for Mount Vernon Nazarene University (42-10, 31-5 Crossroads League) in an 11-6 loss at home against Grace College (13-30, 12-21 Crossroads League) on May 3 in Mt. Vernon. For the season, the outfielder totals 51 starts to produce 36 runs scored, 27 walks, 23 RBIs, 14 doubles, one triple and a .297 batting average.

•Zac Esposito (Sandusky 2010) contributed three strikeouts and did not allow a hit or an earned run in a 1.2-inning effort as a relief pitcher for Shawnee State University (33-26, 14-12 Mid-South Conference) in a 9-7 loss at St. Catharine College (28-27, 15-12 Mid-South Conference) on May 6 in St. Catharine, Ky. For the season, the right-hander tallies 16 appearances and 13 starts to provide 5-4 record, two complete games, 86 innings, 60 strikeouts and 4.92 ERA

•A.J. Cecil (Oak Harbor 2013) compiles 14 appearances and three starts as a pitcher for University of Findlay (12-31, 9-24 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) to contribute a 1-2 record, one complete game, 472/3 innings, 24 strikeouts and a 4.72 ERA.

•Isaac Perry (Norwalk 2013) batted 1 for 4 for Tiffin University (17-33, 16-15 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) in a 14-1 loss against Grand Valley State University (37-11, 24-6 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) on May 9 in Xenia. For the season, the infielder totals 48 appearances and 47 starts to provide 17 runs scored, 17 walks, seven walks, five doubles and a .221 batting average.

•Trent Stamm (Bellevue 2013) collected his fifth appearance of the season as a pinch hitter for Tiffin University in a 1-0 loss at home against Ohio Dominican University (26-22, 15-17 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) on May 4 in Tiffin. For the season, the freshman totals four RBIs and a .200 batting average.

•Vincent Ragnoni (Vermilion 2013) tallies four appearances as a catcher for Lake Erie College (31-20, 22-11 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).

•Bradley Gennari (Margaretta 2011) compiles one appearance as an infielder for Lourdes University (14-28, 11-20 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference).

•Mitchell Novak (Vermilion 2011) collected two walks and batted 1 for 2 for Oberlin College (17-20, 7-12 North Coast Athletic Conference) in a 14-2 loss at DePauw University (23-19, 13-6 North Coast Athletic Conference) on May 3 in Greencastle, Ind. For the season, the infielder compiles 37 starts to contribute 26 runs, 25 RBIs, 12 walks, seven doubles, three triples, two stolen bases and a .299 batting average.

•Chase Boyer (Perkins 2013) delivered two strikeouts and allowed four earned runs in a four-inning effort as a relief pitcher for Allegheny College (27-14, 13-6 North Coast Athletic Conference) in a 9-3 loss against DePauw University on May 9 in Chillicothe. For the season, the right-hander tallies 14 appearances and two starts to produce a 3-3 record, two saves, 33 2/3 innings, 27 strikeouts and a 2.41 ERA.

MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Adam Turner (Clyde 2012) clinched first in the 400-meter dash (49.1 seconds) and fourth with the 4x100-meter relay (42.36 seconds) at the 29th annual University of Toledo Collegiate Invitational for Ohio Wesleyan University on May 9 in Toledo. With his top performance of the season in the 400-meter dash of 48.19 seconds, the sophomore is on pace to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships with the No. 16 performance in the event.

•Tyler Sparks (Clyde 2012) collected seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.8 seconds for University of Mount Union at the 9th annual Gator Invitational, hosted by Allegheny College on May 9 in Meadville, Pa.

SOFTBALL

Josie Hall (New London 2013) scored two runs for Owens Community College (27-9) in a 12-9 loss at Lansing Community College (30-15) on May 7 in Lansing, Mich. For the season, the infielder tallies 35 appearances to deliver 25 runs scored, 22 RBIs, 10 doubles, seven walks, three stolen bases, two home runs, one triple and a.344 batting average. 

•Jeff Roth (Bellevue 2011) compiles 37 appearances and 34 starts as an infielder for Bluffton University (21-18, 13-12 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) to produce 23 runs scored, 20 RBIs, nine walks, one stolen base and a .288 batting average. n Adam Manner (Bellevue 2011) provided two strikeouts and allowed two earned runs in a 3 2/3-inning effort as a relief pitcher for Heidelberg University (31-11, 13-5 Ohio Athletic Conference) in a 13-7 loss against John Carroll University (24-15, 12-6 Ohio Athletic Conference) on May 8 in Marietta. For the season, the right-hander totals 16 appearances and eight starts to produce a 6-2 record, one save, one complete game, 59 innings, 57 strikeouts and a 5.49 ERA.

•Kyle Fluharty (Willard 2012) posted one strikeout and allowed five earned runs for Heidelberg University in a 13-11 loss against Baldwin Wallace University (25-18, 11-7 Ohio Athletic Conference) on May 9 in Marietta. For the season, the southpaw totals 13 appearances and nine starts to deliver a 5-3 record, one save, one complete game, 621/3 innings, 44 strikeouts and a 3.61 ERA.

•Alex Manner (Bellevue 2013) collected his fourth appearance of the season as an outfielder for Heidelberg University against John Carroll University. For the season, the freshman tallies one run scored, one double and a .400 batting average.

•Quentin Harrington (Perkins 2013) totals 23 appearances and 14 starts as an outfielder for Defiance College (9-29, 3-22 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) to provide six runs scored, six RBIs, six walks, two doubles, one stolen base and a .179 batting average.

•Matt Clark (Perkins 2013) adds 12 appearances and seven starts as a pitcher for Defiance College to deliver two complete games, 48 1/3 innings, 19 strikeouts and a 5.77 ERA.

•Royce Laurendeau (Clyde 2012) tallies five appearances and one start as an outfielder for Defiance College to post two runs scored, two RBIs and a .143 batting average.

•Trey Gluth (Port Clinton 2013) totals 20 appearances and six starts for Ohio Wesleyan University (13-26, 6-13 North Coast Athletic Conference) to produce three runs scored, two doubles, two stolen bases, two walks and a .226 batting average.

•Robert Fravel (Port Clinton 2011) compiles six starts as a pitcher for Capital University (11-23, 2-16 Ohio Athletic Conference) to deliver a 2-4 record, 342/3 innings, 21 strikeouts and a 3.89 ERA. n Derek Colston (Port Clinton 2011) adds seven appearances and one start for Capital University to deliver 14 innings, 14 strikeouts and a 7.71 ERA. 

•Cory Fox (Vermilion 2011) tallies five appearances as a pitcher for Adrian College (30-13, 21-7 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) to provide 6 1/3 innings, four strikeouts and an 8.53 ERA.

•Michael Finch (Norwalk 2013) batted 2 for 3 for Owens Community College (19-26, 10-13 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference) in an 8-7 loss at home against Cuyahoga Community College (12-19-1, 8-16 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference) on May 9 in Toledo. For the season, the outfielder totals 44 appearances to produce 21 runs scored, 17 RBIs, nine stolen bases, eight doubles, six walks and a .315 batting average.

MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Anthony Jones (Sandusky 2012) clinched seventh in the hammer throw (177-2.25) and 13th in the discus (137-10.25) at the 29th annual University of Toledo Collegiate Invitational for Eastern Michigan University on May 9 in Toledo.

•Michael Grunden (Margaretta 2009) placed third in the 10,000-meter run at the Grand Valley State University Second To Last Chance Meet with a time of 31:29.43 for Tiffin University on May 9 in Allendale, Mich.

•Steven Lindsay (Oak Harbor 2010) ended 13th in the hammer throw at the Grand Valley State University Last Chance Meet with a mark of 157-7.75 for Tiffin University on May 10 in Allendale, Mich.

•Jaylen Guevara (Sandusky 2011) finished 16th in the hammer throw at the Grand Valley State University Last Chance Meet with a mark of 147-7.75 for Ohio Dominican University.

MEN’S TENNIS

Chalin Cahlik (Port Clinton 2011) finishes his junior season for Tiffin University (15-12, 8-3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) with a 3-0 record in singles action and a 5-1 mark in doubles play. 

•Trevor Bowers (Norwalk 2013) concludes his freshman season for Malone University (3-15, 1-10 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) with a 3-7 record in singles competition and a 4-5 mark in doubles matches.

•Blake Troller (Port Clinton 2010) finalizes his senior season for Ohio Northern University (12-6, 5-3 Ohio Athletic Conference) to produce a 14-7 record in singles play and a 12-8 mark in doubles action.

SOFTBALL

Susan Knight (Edison 2012) contributed three strikeouts and allowed two earned runs for Cleveland State University (24-20, 8-8 Horizon League) in a 3-2 loss against Youngstown State University (29-22, 11-8 Horizon League) on May 7 at Wright State University in Dayton. For the season, the sophomore tallies 36 appearances at various positions to deliver 12 walks, 11 runs scored, eight RBIs, three stolen bases, two homeruns, two doubles and a .176 batting average. As a pitcher, the right-hander tallies 27 appearances and 23 starts to produce an 11-14 record, 15 complete games, 144 innings, 94 strikeouts and a 2.72 ERA.

•Kelsey Yaratch (Perkins 2012) finishes her sophomore season for Tiffin University (23-22, 10-16 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) by tallying 34 appearances and 30 starts at various positions to deliver nine runs scored, six RBIs, four walks, two doubles and a .216 batting average. As a pitcher, the right-hander totals 14 appearances and seven starts to deliver a 5-3 record, four complete games, 54 innings, 26 strikeouts and a 2.33 ERA.

•Devin Pollock (Danbury 2010) concludes her senior season for Tiffin University by totaling 20 appearances and three starts as a utility player to provide four runs scored and one walk.

•Kate-Lynn Urgo (Vermilion 2012) finalizes her sophomore season as an infielder for Lake Erie College (5-34, 1-25 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) to contribute 11 runs scored, five walks, one RBI, one double, one stolen base and a .310 batting average.

•Darcy Daniel (Perkins 2013) finishes her freshman season as a pitcher for Baldwin Wallace University (18-19, 10-8 Ohio Athletic Conference) by tallying 10 appearances and five starts to provide a 1-2 record, two complete games, 32 innings, 12 strikeouts and a 3.28 ERA. 

•Kate Carabin (St. Paul 2010) concludes her senior season as an infielder for Baldwin Wallace University by totaling 33 appearances to produce two RBIs, one run scored and a.182 batting average.

•Brooke Billings (Clyde 2011) finalizes her junior season as a pitcher for Capital University (21-19, 5-13 Ohio Athletic Conference) by tallying 27 appearances and 20 starts as a pitcher to deliver an 8-10 record, one save, eight complete games, 1232/3 innings, 75 strikeouts and a 3.45 ERA.

•Nicole Fluharty (Willard 2010) concludes her senior season as an outfielder for John Carroll University (19-18, 10-8 Ohio Athletic Conference) by compiling 14 appearances and seven starts to contribute five runs scored, three RBIs, two walks and a .286 batting average.

•Olivia Bauer (Willard 2013) finishes her freshman season as an outfielder for Wilmington College (17-20, 8-10 Ohio Athletic Conference) to produce seven runs scored, one RBI and a .250 batting average.

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Meigan Day (Port Clinton 2012) collected fourth in the javelin at the 29th annual University of Toledo Collegiate Invitational with a mark of 123-7 for Ohio Wesleyan University on May 9 in Toledo.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

•Chelsea Beck (Port Clinton 2011) finishes her junior season for Tiffin University (20-8, 12-2 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) to produce a 9-17 record in singles action and a 26-1 mark in doubles play. n Sara Potts (Clyde 2011) concludes her junior season for Heidelberg University (7-10, 4-5 Ohio Athletic Conference) to deliver a 10-4 record in singles competition and a 6-7 mark in doubles matches.
