Opening Day is still 77 days away, but more than 330 park enthusiasts braved the winds and cold temperatures today to take part in the park’s Winter Chill Out event., Cedar Point spokesman Bryan Edwards said.

"The event gave participants an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the park, along with the chance to ask questions to Cedar Point’s new general manager, Jason McClure, Edwards said in a news release.

It helped raise more than $13,000 for Give Kids The World Village, a Central Florida nonprofit “storybook” resort that provides cost-free, weeklong vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world.

Cedar Point opens to the general public for the 2014 season on Saturday, May 10.
