Local dentists Dr. Lata Stefano and Dr. Patricia Sharp of Lata Stefano, DDS, in Sandusky, donated $4,460 to Kinship, Inc. and Heartbeat of Sandusky as a result of the efforts of their office in the Smiles for Life Whitening Program.
Earlier this year, Stefano and Sharp invited their patients and members of the community to whiten their teeth for a reduced price with 100 percent of the proceeds going to charity. They raised $9,910 for the National Smiles for Life Program and committed almost half of that to local Sandusky charities. For more information, go to stefanodental.com .
The Smiles for Life Foundation is the children’s charity organization of the Crown Council, an organization of leading-edge dentists throughout North America.
During the four-month campaign, Stefano, Sharp and team, raised $9, 910. Half of the funds raised were contributed to Heartbeat and Kinship for use right in the Sandusky community. The other half of the funds goes to the Smiles for Life Foundation to be distributed to worthy and approved children’s charities across the U.S. and Canada.
Participating charities includes Children’s Miracle Network, Children of Romania, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, CURE (in Cambodia), Smiles for Hope, and the Kids Cancer Care Foundation. Hetrick earns President’s Sales Club award
Cheryl Hetrick, with Howard Hanna Real Estate Service, has earned the President’s Sales Club Award of Achievement with the Ohio Association of Realtors.
The OAR President’s Sales Club is a mark of distinction among Ohio’s real estate professionals. Out of 26,000 members, fewer than 10 percent have been awarded this recognition.
Hetrick has been in the real estate industry for more than 13 years and has also earned the Residential Relocation Specialist Designation.
Bahnsen is new wellness director at Portland House
Ann Bahnsen was recently hired as the new wellness director at Portland House, a senior living community by Assisted Living Concepts, LLC.
As wellness director, Bahnsen will be responsible for managing Portland House’s residents’ care and health plan along with supervising the daily clinical activities of the caregivers in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
Although born and raised in Attica, Ohio, Bahnsen has spent most of her adult life in Sandusky. A graduate of Providence Hospital School of Nursing, she has utilized her education in a varity of healthcare settings including: the acute hospital environment, home health, long term care, and hospice. Bahnsen’s position as wellness director allows her to combine her 34 years of registered nursing experience to ensure quality care for those residents living at Portland House.
Citizens Banking Co. employees recognized by LPL
The Citizens Banking Co. has announced that two of its branch employees have been recognized by the LPL Financial Institution Services division as top Licensed Branch Employees of 2013 for their achievements as part of The Citizens Banking Co. wealth management program, Citizens Investments.
The employees honored by LPL Financial were: Stephanie Lawrence, of the Sandusky, Water Street office, and Amy Leal, of the Sandusky, East Perkins office. They joined 35 other leading LBEs from across the country and participated in the Platform Champions Conference in Phoenix, Ariz., Sept. 18-20.
The winning employees were selected from among about 2,500 LBEs participating in bank and credit union wealth management programs supported by LPL Financial.
This award was bestowed upon a group of top producers who provide outstanding support to their company’s wealth management program. LBE programs train and certify select employees to offer access to a range of insurance and investment products, primarily to serve the needs of mass-market customers.
