Yost honored for community service

The Community Service Award is given to an individual or organization from the community who has, in an extraordinary manner, participated in the growth, development, or promotion of BGSU Firelands and the Firelands community.

At BGSU Firelands’ annual Recognition Program April 25, Jayne Yost, a Milan resident employed by Macy’s Systems & Technology Inc., Lorain, was awarded the 2014 Community Service Award.

The Community Service Award is given to an individual or organization from the community who has, in an extraordinary manner, participated in the growth, development, or promotion of BGSU Firelands and the Firelands community. 

Yost has been employed at Macy’s Systems and Technology Inc. since 2004 in a variety of roles and currently serves as a senior business analyst. From 2010 until March, she was the information technology recruiter and had a high level of interaction with BGSU Firelands. As an alumnus of BGSU, Yost has a firsthand knowledge of the quality education and training students receive from the university.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in interpersonal and public communications in 1990 and a master’s degree in communications studies in 1991, both from BGSU. She also completed studies toward a doctoral degree in communications studies from BGSU.
