Tonia Sherer, 71, was on a John Deere zero turn mower along the roadway about 1 p.m. Thursday in front of her residence at 13127 Bellamy Road, said Erie County Sheriff Deputy Justin Smith. Sherer lost control and was thrown from the mower and into a ditch with standing water in it. The mower landed beside her. Sherer did not have any visible injuries and could move her legs, Smith said. She was, however, experiencing pain in her back and legs.

Erie County Sheriffs deputies, Berlin Heights Fire Department and North Central EMS responded and helped her out of the ditch.

North Central EMS transported Sherer to Fisher-Titus for evaluation.

Thankfully, she wasn't one of these idiots who mow with a small child on board! Glad she's ok.

Must be a slow day in Sandusky..this was in the Reflector last week. Glad that she is ok
