DNA evidence helped sealed the fate of a Bellevue man suspected in an armed home invasion two months ago, Bellevue police said.

Jason Wiswell, 33, of the 400 block of N. Buckeye St., was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, kidnapping and firearms theft.

Police have yet to release the identify of Wiswell’s alleged accomplice, who they said has fled the state.

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Attwood Terrace at about 8 p.m. Dec. 12, after the homeowner called 911 and said two masked men robbed him at gunpoint in his home, according to a police report.

The victim told police he had just arrived home when he heard a knock at the door, then peered outside to see a masked man. The suspect and a second masked man stormed the home at gunpoint, tying up the homeowner before searching the house. They made off with firearms before fleeing on foot, according to the report.

The homeowner later told police the culprit might be a man employed by a company that had repaired his home. The company had fired the worker for drug problems, but in the brief time he worked at the victim’s home, he had asked about a gun collection inside, according to the report.

At the crime scene, police found a ski mask and other clothing, which they sent to a crime lab for DNA analysis. The test results came back this past week, matching up to Wiswell’s DNA profile, officers said.

Bellevue police Detective Marc Linder had suspected Wiswell’s involvement, given the information from the homeowner and other evidence, but the DNA match only solidified the case. As Wiswell has previous felony convictions, his DNA profile was already in a law enforcement database.

The second suspect is also a convicted felon, police said, and his arrest should be forthcoming.

I think we've discovered the actual human face behind the drawings of people who think they've seen an alien from outer space. That or the jailer is checking him for internal drugs. Ralph, that was a hilarious comment! :}

Eye for one hope that there are no little kids running around Bellevue with the same DNA... Eye also think they didn't need the DNA, the police could have just looked at the ski mask and saw how big the eye holes were and it would have narrowed it down to...ummm..one ?
