With a strong commitment to education and community, the Department of Music, Arts and Humanities at Terra Community College brings rich opportunities for students of all ages.
It does so through diverse concerts and performances, art shows and creative arts activities, traditional and contemporary music ensembles and programs, guest artists and musicians, and numerous lessons and workshops through the Terra Music Academy located at the college and Bellevue Society for the Arts -- and soon to be coming to the State Theatre.
Terra will offer music and general education classes at the State Theatre during the spring semester.
The State Theatre hosts workshops and presentations by Terra's Music and Art faculty, hosts the Terra Student Art Show in the spring, and works closely with Terra in making arts education affordable and accessible for students and the community.
"Terra at the State" concert series brings three concerts to the theatre:
n "Rogers & Hammerstein with Heart!" Oct. 17 with the Elisabeth Von Trapp, Sound of Music Festival Chorus and Terra Chamber Arts Orchestra.
n "Holiday of Hope!" Dec. 4 with the Terra Choral Society, Arts Chorale, Terra Brass Choir and special guests. Narrated by guest artist New York actress, Joyce Carolyn.
n "Jammin' at the State," May 1 with the Terra Thunder Jazz Band and special guests.
