A Sandusky mother faces felony charges in the death of her 3-year-old son, who suffered injuries days or weeks prior to when the mother’s boyfriend allegedly murdered the boy.
Danielle Flannery, 22, was arrested Wednesday after a special grand jury session where she testified about Owen Barker’s short life and death.
Prosecutors allege Flannery knew her son, Owen, was likely suffering for months under the hand of accused killer Michael Milner, her 24-year-old boyfriend of two years.
“But she failed to protect him,” Erie County prosecutor Kevin Baxter said. “That’s the rationale behind the charges.”
