About this time every year, secular progressive come forth to question our national heritage and our icons of Christianity. Their view is that we have no cultural heritage, that we have stolen everything from the British, French, Indians Mexican, Spanish, etc. Firstly there has been no culture that was instantly transplanted by the stars. All cultures are an evolutionary process. Roman culture and religion evolved from the Greeks, the Persians, Phoenicians and the Etruscans.

So when the Seculars say it is not a Christmas tree, it is a Holiday tree, there is truth historically. Some say it was a pagan symbol used by early German tribes. Others say it was used by the Romans and Egyptians.

The history of Christianity, our symbols and icons dates back more than 4,000 years. Many of our Christian traditions were celebrated centuries before the Christ child was born. The 12 days of Christmas, the giving of gifts, the holiday feasts can be traced back to early Mesopotamians. The Persians and Babylonians celebrated a similar festival called the Sacaea. The return of the sun to Scandinavia started the festival of Yuletide. The Romans started "Deck The Halls," nevertheless we have pulled together many icons to create a unique American Judo-Christian culture. For those that attack that culture, they need more love in their life.

We need to love America, love our history, love our culture and love our God.
