I would like to commend the city commissioners for their courage and foresight in ordering up a developer agreement for the Marina District. The pace of re-development of the city is really becoming breathtaking and credit must be given to the commissioners supporting this and to the city staff led by Mike Will, working through the details.

The citizens of Sandusky have been rightfully skeptical over the years as one study after another have been done to kick-start and are beginning to accelerate toward a new, prosperous future. But change of this magnitude can often bring with it a hesitancy on the part of some to embrace the future.

The past is an entirely known commodity. The future is as yet unwritten. It is this uncertainty about the future that makes some so fearful of it. But we have to trust those we elect to help author that future. With their recent vote to move the Marina Project forward, I believe the current commission has amply demonstrated that we can trust them to be the authors of Sandusky's future. With their recent vote to move the Marina Project forward, I believe the current commission has amply demonstrated that we cant rust the to be the authors of Sandusky's future. Now, it is our turn as citizens to support them.

This process will take courage and vision on everyone's part, citizens, developer, commission and city staff. Let's not let Sandusky's future be held hostage to Sandusky's past.
