In the story “Waterpark building boom over? Not quite,” it is mentioned that another waterpark was given a 10-year, 100 percent tax abatement. Also in this same edition and others before and after are articles that Sandusky, Perkins and Margaretta schools are going to have levies on the upcoming elections.

The people responsible for allowing these tax abatements better start taking another look before being so generous. The people are getting tired of being blamed for the shortfall in school operating monies. I would like a 10-year, 100 percent tax abatement on my property. Instead the tax man has the option on raising my taxes without my input.

The bottom line is when the city and county need a tax increase, don’t count on me. I’m doing my share. Go after these waterparks and condos that are getting these abatements.
