The ElderCollege at BGSU Firelands will kick off its fall semester Sept. 10 with a performance from the Lyme Village Pioneer String Band.

The show will include folk, gospel, country, spiritual and patriotic songs.

The free event is 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the college's Cedar Point Center, 1 University Drive, Huron.

ElderCollege is an independent organization for adults 50 and older. It strives to promote lifelong learning and there are no requirements to join.

An added perk: classes and programs do not include tests or grades.

Enrolling in ElderCollege for one semester costs $70, while two semesters cost $110. Individuals can also pay $20 to attend one of the 35 classes planned for the fall semester.
