A driver rear-ended a Sandusky school bus stopped at a stop sign at about 4 p.m. Monday, the district's first day of the 2014-15 school year.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Cleveland Road and McKinley Street, according to a Sandusky police report.
Two students were aboard the bus, but no one was injured, district officials told school board members at a Monday evening meeting.
"One student was sleeping and just kept sleeping, and the other student didn't even know it happened," said David Danhoff, Sandusky Schools chief of staff and transformation officer.
Police cited the driver, Charlotte J. Pugh, 67, who lives in the first block of E. Cedarwood Drive, with failure to assure clear distance ahead.
Pugh's 1993 Lincoln Town Car sustained minor damage, according to the report.
The Sandusky Schools bus didn't sustain any damage and will not need repairs, Danhoff said.
