50 years ago, 1964: An explosion which ripped out the west wall of the service department at Sandusky Motor Sales, 610 E. Perkins Ave., caused damage estimated in excess of $75,000. The blast, which hurled one employee more than 20 feet, was caused, according to fire officials, by an acetylene cutting torch which set fire to gasoline leaking from a tank.

Lohan won awards for best movie actress in a comedy, best movie hissy fit and best movie blush for her part in "Mean Girls." She also won best movie breakout star actress.
