The Montgomery County prosecutor’s office said Friday that Ashley Lynn Warner, 25, of West Milton, faces one count of felonious assault on an officer, and one count each for possession of heroin, cocaine and drug abuse instruments.

Vandalia police detectives were patrolling for illegal drug activity June 20 when they approached a vehicle in which Warner was a passenger.

Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. said the officer was pricked by the needle during a pat-down, despite asking Warner repeatedly if she had any weapons or needles on her.

The officer was taken to an emergency room for treatment out of concern for contracting hepatitis C.

F these drug users...get rid of all of them

mikeylikesit

f the pigs. get rid of all of them. they just might think twice before patting down somebody for drugs, but i doubt it. they will have to find a safer way to extort the people.

"Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. said the officer was pricked by the needle during a pat-down, despite asking Warner repeatedly if she had any weapons or needles on her." I question the felonious assault on an officer charge since the suspect did not intentionally use the needle against the officer.

She knew it was there and did not tell the officer it was there. She left it there knowing it could possibly cause harm. She knew she was going to get a pat down with a needle on her person. She had the opportunity to tell him and she didn't. That is on her. Yes that is assault. My question is why did the officer not have stick proof gloves on ?

ISPSP

There are "stick-proof" gloves?

ladydye_5

Yes. http://www.galls.com/turtleskin-... .....just one...many different styles.

ISPSP

Wow! I did not know that. Thank you for your information. I learn something new every day!

Bottom Line

K9unit you're spot on. Worthless pieces of garbage. We should lock them up and throw away the key. Shame on anyone bad-mouthing a cop for getting hardcore drugs off the street. Where do you see the search was illegal? Why should they not pat someone down for drugs? I can't believe how many insanely idiotic people have such an anti-cop agenda... Have I had a couple bad experiences with Barney Fife types? Absolutely. And I was steamed. But to take the side of worthless criminals like her, who probably has a history of arrests, over an officer doing his duty is appalling. When your loved ones get robbed or killed by a crack head to satisfy their addiction or driving impaired I bet you re-think that stance.

i wouldn't rethink anything. i will take care of it. i don't need the governments jack booted revenue collectors to handle my business. he better hope he extorted enough money over the years to buy a new liver.

Hide behind a computer screen and spew your hate. And the Register will happily allow it too.

mikeylikesit

because you don't like what i say, it's hate? boo hoo.. OINK OINK!!

CommonsenseNow

Can't people just speak their minds without "hate" always being attached? That word is so freaking overused it doesn't even mean anything anymore. Everyone has a view and different experiences. Nothing wrong with stating your view. He's not calling for violence against anyone; he is not encouraging anyone else to feel the way he does; he is simply expressing his thoughts. Big whoopty doo.

no sense trying to reason with these pigs hiding behind a badge, or the pig f@#kers who kiss their a$$..

Florence Nightingale

Just out of curiosity, why so much hate for the cops?

oheaglefl

well look at the name, mikeylikesit, probably a druggy himself.

headline should read "citizen needled by prick". i don't have time to argue with you. my joint is burning up as i type and my beer is getting warm..

Bottom Line

I didn't think it was possible for anyone else to make comments that rival the stupidity of jazzbo. I stand corrected.

mikeylikesit

yeah, i agree. you are a retarded f@#k, that's for sure..

k9unit

Ridiculous! ^

mikeylikesit

oink!

CommonsenseNow

Why is it ridiculous?!? Is it a crime for someone to speak their mind if they're not encouraging violence? Hell, I have people call me names on here, big whoopty do. What ... should i call the thought police everytime someone insults me? Let people speak their minds. Last time I checked we are still in the USA not the USSA ... although that could be argued with NSA monitoring and saving all our electronic communications to use against us any dang time they want.

k9unit

Did you not read what he wrote?!

boo hoo! dont like it? SKIP IT!
