A Sandusky man was arrested Monday after his neighbor watched him break into her home and emerge carrying her purse, police said.

Dustin Neeley, 30, 1400 block Winnebago Ave., was charged with misdemeanor theft and burglary, a second-degree felony.

A Venice Road woman said she was waiting in her shed until her her boyfriend returned from the store at about 1 a.m. Monday, when she spotted Neeley in her back yard, according to a Sandusky police report.

The woman watched as Neeley allegedly entered the home, then exited a short while later. When he walked outside, the woman noticed him carrying her purse with prescriptions inside, the report said.

The woman then confronted Neeley and took her purse back. Neeley said her boyfriend told him to retrieve the medicine, the woman told police.

Neeley later said he'd been at home all night, and was baffled by the allegations.

In the report, officers noted that Neeley was “highly upset over the matter and could not figure out why (the woman) said he had broke into her house and tried to take her purse.”

He was arrested and taken to the Erie County jail.

Waiting in her shed until her boyfriend got home at 1 AM? Why not wait in the house?

lol...probably cuz she doesn't have a key cuz he doesn't trust her...Obviously she's a pill head. I wonder what the prescriptions were for? Either some opiate (Oxy/Percocet/vicodin) or a benzodiazepine (Xanax. Possibly a amphetamine and dextroamphetamine (adderall)no doubt.

I would have had my purse in the shed with me. I think actually she needs a new script if she'd rather hang out in the shed than the house.

What is wrong here is that some lunatic can make any crazy allegation and they cuff you and haul you off.

Yea, I've had false allegations made against me before. When questioned I flet like the police already decided I was guilty. I had to have two people go sign affidavits for me to "prove my innocence". ?Welcome to America 2014! GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT!

Wow, there is a lot of weird in this story. Why is she hanging out in the shed? And why would the boyfriend the the neighbor to go get the medication out of his house? Did the boyfriend no know she if she was even home? If she wasn't home and the meds were in her purse how would he get them? A lot of weird here. Too many questions.

But the police decided she was telling the truth and not the neighbor. Nice to know they get to play God like that!

Well, when your track record is a lengthy as Ol' Dusty's, it's a pretty easy call for the cops. He's a POS, and EVERYONE knows it. She may be a pillhead, or not, but it's VERY unlikely that she (and or her boyfriend) have even half the "contact" with the police that Neeley has.

Still laughing, 3-4 years later, on how Ol' Dusty was going to "have me busted" for a transaction that we NEVER COMPLETED via Craigslist. I called his bluff, and went to the police FIRST, and THEY told me to run, far and fast, from young Mr. Neeley.

Just read today's "daily disappointment" aka, the Register, and my bouy Trusty Dusty's name was in the police blotter yet again.

Bad week huh? July 31st, 1:03PM BUSTED for driving under suspension/failure to reinstate driver's license, and for violating a protection order.

The hits just keep on coming for young Mr. Neeley.
