Members of the Journey of Hope cycling team arrived in Sandusky to the cheers and applause of Ability Works clients at the Sandusky Sailing Club on Wednesday afternoon.
Journey of Hope, organized by Push America, is a cross-country cycling trek that raises funds and awareness on behalf of people with disabilities. Every cyclist commits to raising at least $5,500 on behalf of people with disabilities. Combine their individual efforts with corporate sponsorships and the Journey of Hope 2014 team will raise more than $500,000 for people with disabilities.
After handshakes, high-fives and hugs, members of the cycling team and Ability Works clients got the opportunity to sit down with each other over lunch to talk and get to know one another. After lunch the good times and celebrations continued with a dance party and games.
