No one was injured after a boat capsized Sunday morning in Sandusky Bay, an officer with the Ohio Division of Watercraft said Sunday.
The officer said he did not have the names of the people in the boat.
About four people were in the 19-foot ski boat when it capsized in about 12 to 15 feet of water in Sandusky Bay, just north of the channel between the Bay Point sandbar and the coal docks, said Jim Kennedy, fleet manager for Lake Erie Towing.
A witness said all of the people in the boat were in their 20s.
Kenndy said his company received a call at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday about a boat capsizing in Sandusky Bay.
The boat was found floating nose up. The towing company righted it and took it to Battery Park Marina, Kennedy said. The boat suffered damage, he said.
The incident left a large debris trail in the water, which was picked up by the towing company and people on the scene who were willing to help. The young people, had gone camping near the barge party, Kennedy said.
"They had a lot of gear," he said.
He said friends of the people in the boat picked them up in jet skis.
