A motorcyclist was seriously injured when his bike veered off the road and struck a utility pole early Sunday.

Gary G. Grueshaber, 31, Perrysburg, was flown from the scene to the University of Toledo Medical Center, according to the Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on Bayshore Road about 5 miles south of Hartshorn Road at about 1:45 a.m.

Grueshaber's was eastbound on a 2000 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide FXD motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the right side of the road, striking a property post and a utility pole before he was ejected from the bike.

The accident remains under investigation and it's unknown if alcohol was a factor, the Patrol said. Grueshaber was not wearing a helmet.

And now we know the full name of the motorcycle he was riding couldn't just been a Harley.

Gads, these motorcycles are dangerous.
There's 3 to 5 stories a week about someone being seriously hurt or killed on them.
Way more dangerous than driving drunk.

Not really, but ok! Sad thing us when you are driving drunk you are the problem. 99% of the time its the cars not seeing the motorcycle!

You cannot go south on Bayshore Rd from the Hartshorn Rd intersection for 5 miles. If you do you will be somewhere near the Sandusky shoreline. Approximately 1/2 or .5 mile south of Hartshorn Rd is a sharp right curve and approximately 5 miles west of that curve is a left and right "S" curve at the intersection with Church Rd.
