A Fremont woman was killed and two others injured in a one-vehicle crash early today in Washington Township.

Latoya Minniefield, 33, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, on County Road 65 west of County Road 90.

The driver, Deshun Cash, 27, and another passenger, Brittany Minniefield, both were injured and flown to St. Vencent hospital in Toledo.

Cash was eastbound when he lost control of the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu and went off the road, striking a tree. All three occupants of the vehicle were ejected.

Speed and alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash, the Fremont post of the Highway Patrol said. Seatbelts were not in use during the crash, which remains under investigation.
