Fishing fun day at Shoreline Park

Sandusky’s recreation department, Erie MetroParks and Western Basin Sportsfishing Association are hosting the fun-filled “Take the Kids Fishing Fun Day” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Shoreline Park in downtown Sandusky. The event is in memory of Chuck Hanck.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. The free event is open to children ages 5 to 17. All children participating in the event must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will be required to sign a waiver upon arrival.

Participants can bring their own fishing pole if they have one. Nightcrawlers will be available while supplies last, provided by Erie Shore Hookers Bait & Tackle. Lunch will be served to all participants courtesy of Port Sandusky Family Restaurant, Nickles Bakery and Kreimes Cardinal Grocery.
