Interested in catching footlong rainbow trout and brown trout in Castalia’s renowned Cold Creek this summer and fall?

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications through the end of March for anglers who want the opportunity to trout fish at the Castalia Fish Hatchery on Homegardner Road.

Fishermen and fisherwomen are encouraged to apply for the random drawing online at wildohio.com  . Those selected can fish from May 5 through Nov. 28 at designated times, depending on their age group.

To sign up, applicants must have a fishing license and pay a $3 non-refundable fee.

Anglers must follow specific rules if chosen, including a no catch-and-release rule, as well as a limit of five trout per day.
