I pray that more people are waking up to the president of the United States. Americans are losing their jobs and lifestyle. However, our president is content to travel the world, have parties at the taxpayers' expense and continue to campaign. He also is wonderful at blaming everyone else for his continued failure. This person was elected to be president of the United States. As president, he has been placed in a position that requires leadership. Leaders accept responsibility and losers loathe responsibility

With total control of Congress, he has failed to accomplish anything. The only thing consistent with him is his continuous blaming of George Bush. President Bush was not perfect. However, he did not continually place blame on President Clinton. I know of no past presidents (Democrat or Republican) who blamed the previous administration.

Americans need to stop watching reality television and wake up to the reality of their life under this individual. He is an angry man. All you need is to start paying attention to the look on his face when he does not get his way.

Hare Krishna Kumbaya Duhast, make love not war. How's your BW microbus running. North Korea was included in the axis of evil. How many times have you watched "Hair"

Duhast

Oh, my mistake. Mass rape squads and genocide is OK as long as it’s a civil war. Good thing the Jews didn’t have that problem during WW2. I’d hate to think we interrupted a civil war.

Could you also please clarify how I’m safer by having invading Iraq? If anything, I’d say that I am less safe now that we’ve REALLY inflamed anti-American sentiment in the middle east.

brutus smith

Richard, are you going on vacation anytime soon in Iraq????

brutus smith

Iraq was a civil war.

Richard Bebb

"You had a genocide in Darfur going on that Bush completely ignored"

Darfur is a civil war, so now you want Bush/American involvement in their conflict, uh oh better get back on the talking points that the conflict in Iraq is us getting involved in their civil war.

Richard Bebb

"You are worried about health care reform when we’ve spent $704 Billion on the Iraq war??"

Again and hopefully for the last time, defense spending is covered in the constitution, another massive entitlement government handout is not, enough of the lefty talking points.

Its expensive to fight wars, who doesn't get that. Thats the price of keeping you safe, are you not happy that Bush defended you and this country after 9/11?? All Barry has done is rack up massive debt on failed "stimulus" plans and effectively shut down our intelligence network by hamstringing the CIA. But yet they are now trying to claim credit for the success in Iraq when Biden and Barry both opposed the surge, hahaha come on give me a break.

Duhast

Why the hatred for the Iraq war? I was one of those people that opposed it from the beginning. Sadam was a threat to no one. He was effectively neutralized. He had no capabilities of striking the Unites States mainland. And we all know Israel is perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. You had a genocide in Darfur going on that Bush completely ignored. If there was a country that needed invading this was it. Then you had north Korea with nukes and threatening to use them. Why didn’t we invade them? They had WMD’s and were ready to push the button. Why the double standard? Hmmm. Who had more oil?
Bush had his mind made up to invade when he took office and the American people and Congress were blind to this. When he was re-elected, I turned to my wife and said, “watch him invade Iraq”. Well, wouldn’t you know it…

Duhast

Goofus,
Oh yea, Bush had it soooo bad. Boohoo! That’s why he went on endless vacations right? The man was responsible for re-directing military resources to Iraq for some trumped up charges. You are worried about health care reform when we’ve spent $704 Billion on the Iraq war?? What happened to that balanced budget he was handed? Did Obama do that too? I guess when he invented his time machine to go back and change his birth records, he must have held a gun to GWB’s head and forced him and the republican congress into massive deficit spending.

I like your “coalition of the willing”. Do you think the two soldiers from Iceland helped to turn the tide of the war? While we have supplied, 200,000 - 300,000 troops, look what Bush’s buddies supplied. I will give props to the UK for their 46,000. But Blair is taking some heat now isn’t he?

goofus

Duhast, why the hatred of the Iraq war, VP Biden called it a triumph of the Obama administration. PS. Evan Byhh quit

goofus

I give up hufftard, one ambiguous quote in a speech is defintely worse than a full year of blaming Bush by name.

goofus

The true problem with the economy is Obama and his agenda. Everybody knows he wants universal healthcare, he wants to do away with the secret ballot in union elections, card check,he is also clinging to the global warming hoax by cap and trade, and we all know he wants to redistribute the wealth. Having started a business from scratch with a few emoployees to 100 when I sold it, I know a little bit about jobs creation. I remain friends with numerous business owners and to a man, they are very cautious about any expansion with this administration. They really don't know their future liabilities with Obama in charge. A community organizer knows nothing about jobs creation. His administration insists that the banks aren't lending is the reason. With future liabilities in limbo, loans aren't the problem unless you need them to meet payroll and then you are in deep trouble. The only thing that will bring hiring to factories and businesses is if the present staffing can't keep up with the demand. If an economy is to grow, you must have consumer confidence. If you have unemployment at 17% you still have 83% still making a living. Where's there spending? They have the same fear of Obama and his agenda as business owners. Fears have become intensified now that the New York Times has stated that Obama is going to implement his agenda by executive edicts, thus avoiding congress. McCain would have done better in the fact that his agenda wouldn't have been socialistic and consumer confidence would have been better.

The next time you hear a right winger complaining that one whole year! into Obama's Presidency he continues to blame George Bush for his our problems, remind them of the following quote from Reagan's 1983 State of the Union:

"The problems we inherited were far worse than most inside and out of government had expected; the recession was deeper than most inside and out of government had predicted. Curing those problems has taken more time and a higher toll than any of us wanted."

The problems we inherited. From his dad? From his aunt? From his great grandmother? From a long lost uncle???????? C'mon simpleton this really shouldn't be a challenge for you. Time to move on from this one goofus.

brutus smith

The only thing that pinky of yours is good for is that it is attached to your hand which helps to pat yourself on the back. The light is on but nobody is home.

goofus

Duhast, a little revisionist history lesson? Bush inherited a good economy? Ever hear of the dot com bust and the recession that followed? Relatively peaceful time? Ever hear of the 1st World Trade Center Bombing, the Oklahoma City bombing, the attack at the Khobar Towers, the bombing of the U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, and the U.S.S. Cole? It was peaceful in the fact that Clinton did nothing except leveled an aspirin factory. Started wars? Can one remember all the leftists that told him to get rid of Sadam Hussein? Destroyed our image abroad? With who? Seems to me there was a coalition of countries that helped in the war. We know that the left views the military the same way as Michael Vick likes dogs. That's paragraph one.

goofus

Brutus, I have more brains in my little pinky than you do in your entire body. I reread your post, Reagan was a gentleman, not once did he mention Carter or the previous administration. The daily rhetoric of the buffoon in charge is to blame on a daily basis Bush and the previous administration. You are so obtuse, and a master at the art of puffery.

libertarian

The fact of the matter is that both Bush and Obama represent slightly different form of collectivism that has been degrading our economy and liberty at least since 1900. They are both collectivist & government thugs. Shame on them. All moral people should shame and ostracize collectivist & government thugs.

Duhast

You guys are comparing apples to oranges. Bush inherited a good economy and a relatively peaceful time. In the course of 8 years, we were attacked, he started two overseas wars, spent like a drunken sailor and destroyed America’s image abroad. The economy took a spiraling decent and we ended up where we are now. Some his fault and some the fault of congress (R & D both). Idiot Bush invaded Iraq and Idiot congress voted to allow him to do it. They were so afraid or being painted as un-American after 9/11, they would have voted to allow him to bomb Paris if he wanted.

Obama took office and now everyone expects him to fix it ASAP and chides him when it can’t be done immediately. Economists, majority of Congress, and Bush all agreed on the stimulus spending and bailouts. Had McCain taken office, he would be in the same boat with the same congress. Had Obama been given the same economy that Bush was given, things would be different wouldn’t they? I hear and read a lot of criticism of what he is doing, but no practical alternatives. Only the same old tired Fox News talking points.

Richard Bebb

Here is some light reading for all you libs who claim that Clinton was the messiah before Barry took the throne.

LUVCAPS

YOU CAN SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT, OBAMA. HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED YOUR COLUMBIA GAS BILL? MY GAS BILLS WERE RUNNING ANYWHERE FROM, $400.00-$600.00 A MONTH DURING THE BUSH YEARS. I NOW HAVE A CREDIT WITH COLUMBIA GAS, RESULTING FROM THE HUGE BUDGET AMOUNT I PAID DURING THE BUSH YEARS. WE GOT THE OIL MEN OUT OF OFFICE AND THE PROFIT THEY MUST HAVE MADE SHOULD BE CRIMINAL. THANK GOD FOR, OBAMA. HE HAS NOT SOLVED ALL OF OUR PROBLEMS BUT HE DOESN'T HAVE GREED, AND A DON'T GIVE A DARN ABOUT ANYONE MAKING UNDER A SIX FIGURE ATTITUDE. JOBS? SEEMS LIKE THE BUSH YEARS WERE THE YEARS PEOPLE STARTED LOSING THEIR JOBS, AND HOUSES. BUT, THE DOUBLE EDGE SWORD....HAS ANYONE PAID ATTENTION TO THE ELCTRIC BILLS??????????????

brutus smith

goofus, ole ye of simple mind, what does it mean to you when he says "what I was left with"? Did a cat leave a mouse on the W.H. porch? Maybe the dog took a dump? Or was it dirty dishes in the sink? Good thing your parents provided well for you, because that simple mind wouldn't take you to far.

brutus smith

That's one thing I credit Reagan for, he did the blaming, he wasn't a coward like Bush and have his surrogates do it. And ole big mouth Cheney sure can't keep his trap shut can he.

goofus

Reader: Nice astroturf way of writing. Hard to believe the feds are monitoring this rinky dink newspaper. Keep up the continued good work of ellie light. Brutus Smith: I read your left wing hit piece and I can't find one mention of Carter. In one quote he cites decades, was Carter president for twenty years. Nice try nimrod.

@ bs:

You'll be pleased to know that lefty nut job Paul Krugman agrees with you and is very disappointed in Obie:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/0...

In Europe, maybe Greece or Iceland can spend their way back to fiscal health? LOL.

How many economic and personal finance books have you ever read?

So according to you: Obie IS failing.

Glad we agree for different reasons. LOL.

‘Reagan Blamed Carter’

Where in your posting is the phrase ‘previous administration’? Reagan was only stating the circumstances.

I dare you to find me a speech where either Reagan or GW Bush used the term ‘previous administration’ as often as Obie has and does.

Former POTUS Clinton started trashing newly elected GW Bush almost from day one.

Where has GW Bush been critical of Obie? Where was GHW Bush critical of Clinton?

You blame GW Bush for 9-11 and he was only POTUS for about eight months.

Obie has been POTUS for over a yr., but he’s still not responsible for the state of the economy?

How long are you going to give this joker a pass with your double standard?

Why are Europe’s economies in a mess? GW Bush’s fault? LOL.

brutus smith

No it wasn't enough and yes it needs to be more. I don't see any private companies stepping forward to lead us out of this. And don't give me the BS about tax breaks or regulations. Rates are the same as under Bush when everything was hunky dorey.

‘…FDR's programs and WWll's MASSIVE GOV SPENDING.’

If your erroneous reading of history and economics is accurate, then Obie should be spending hundreds of trillions more to get the U.S. out of recession and put all Americans back to work right?

Asking for $1 trillion in stimulus wasn’t enough then was it?

Why is he talking fiscal discipline and paying down the debt then?

Excellent letter Dan, I couldn't agree more. Obama is the worst President since Jimmy Carter, and may end up even worse than Carter, time will tell. All Obama can do is blame, campaign, party and apologize.
He is no leader to be sure, he is soft on terrorists, has no plan for Americas economic collapse, and is spending us into oblivion. He is a typical progressive elitist, just like George Soros wants.

brutus smith

And if Clinton wasn't responsible for the surplus, then he wasn't responsible for NAFTA. And Y2K, I don't remember any terrorist attack that happened then do you? And the fixes to the computer glitches seemed to work out pretty well, since people like you can talk about what didn't happen. But you fail to talk about why it didn't happen. But that's just you Winston, throwing things out of your behind just to stir things up.
