The accident happened at about  9:40 p.m. on County Road 201 just west of Tiffin Road in Sandusky County, according to a news release from the Fremont post of the Ohio Patrol.

Javon McDonald, 16, was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion. He was traveling too fast for the road conditions, the news release stated, causing the vehicle to go off the road and into a field where it overturned. McDonald suffered non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Fremont Memorial Hospital.

Savhana Cousins, 15, was flown from the scene to Mercy St. Vincent hospital in Toledo suffering incapacitating injuries. She was wearing a safety belt.

Drake Brown, 18, and Janell Raby, 15, both suffered incapacitating injuries and were transported by Sandusky County EMS to Fremont Memorial Hospital. They also were not wearing seat belts and both were ejected from the vehicle before it overturned.

The crash is still under investigation and alcohol is not suspected, the Patrol said.

Icy road conditions, excessive speed for conditions and darkness - it's a bad combination! Hope that everyone comes out of this o.k
