A 25-year-old man was struck and killed by a train in New London Sunday afternoon.

Christopher Dunn had no permanent address but had temporarily been living in the area, New London police Officer Joseph Blake said.

He was walking along the railroad tracks near South Railroad Street when he was struck by a CSX train.

"At this time, it looks like it was an accident," Blake said.

Dunn's body was found about 50 feet from where it was struck.

The train was stopped for about three hours while police were investigating the incident.

The case remains open, but early indications are his death was an accident.
