A $16 million project recently approved for BGSU Firelands will expand and renovate the college's facilities to accommodate high-demand degrees in the health field.

On Friday, all 11 trustees at Bowling Green State University's main campus approved the project, called the "Allied Health & Science Project."

It calls for a nearly 17,000-square foot addition to the college's North Building and renovations to its North and West buildings, including laboratories.

"The renovations and expansions will fulfill campus and student needs now and in the immediate future," BGSU Firelands dean Bill Balzer said in the news release.

The project is scheduled for tentative completion in 2016.

Pick up a copy of Tuesday's Register for more information about the project.
