A 22-year-old New London man remains in the hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Hartland Center Road Tuesday evening.

Grant Dauch, was in the southbound lane attempting to stop traffic for a company offloading construction equipment north of U.S. 20 when he was injured, according to a news release from the Norwalk post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Crystal Hall, 34, of Amherst, was driving a 2011 Ford Focus, which failed to stop, striking Dauch and throwing him off the west side of the road.

Dauch suffered serious injuries and was taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center, from where he was flown by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for treatment.

Troopers say Dauch was not wearing reflective clothing and did not have any traffic control equipment in the dark roadway.

Hall, who was wearing her safety belt, was not injured in the crash.
