The woman was rushed to a Toledo-area hospital, and she was conscious and talking when paramedics initially treated her, Ballville Township firefighters said.

The woman was at Industrial Strength Electronics Inc., in the 2200 block of Hayes Ave., when at about 4:30 p.m. a 22,000-pound metal press fell on her, according to firefighters and a Sandusky County deputy’s report.

A piece of wood propped the press up, preventing her legs from being completely crushed, according to the report.

Emergency crews from the Ballville and Sandusky Township fire departments responded to the scene, along with deputies. Harmon’s legs were not amputated, a Ballville firefighter said. She was taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital for treatment.
