Montgomery police said Steven Wuest, 66, of Cincinnati, was cited Wednesday on carrying a concealed weapon, aggravated menacing, inducing panic and assault charges.

Police said he allegedly pointed a can of bear repellant at nurses, striking one in the hand when she tried to stop him from leaving the hospital Oct. 10 after surgery.

Staffers said he then threatened them with a.22 caliber pistol before security guards took it.

Police found a bag with two loaded pistols, ammunition, a pocket knife and scissors in Wuest’s room.

Wuest’s wife told police he has had psychiatric episodes.
