A 23-year-old Sandusky man is accused of holding a knife to a woman's throat while sexually assaulting her.
Sandusky police arrested Benjamin Miller, of the 200 block of E. Follet St., late Saturday on charges of felonious assault and disrupting public service.
A resident called police at about 11:30 p.m. and said a naked man was standing outside a home in the 900 block of Columbus Ave., according to a Sandusky police report.
Officers arrived and quickly located Miller, then talked to a 25-year-old woman in the home.
The woman said Miller held a knife to her throat and bit her while sexually assaulting her, the report said.
The woman was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center, where medical staff checked her for evidence of a sexual assault, Sandusky police Detective John Orzech said.
Miller and the woman recently ended their relationship, Orzech said.
When the woman tried to call police, Miller tore a phone cord from the wall and tried to cut the cord, police said.
Officers collected a wood-handle steak knife and a kitchen knife from the scene, though it's not clear which one was used in the alleged assault, the report said.
Additional charges for the sexual assault could follow, depending on the results from the investigation, Orzech said.
Miller was taken to the Erie County jail, where he's being held without bond pending his court appearance.
