A Port Clinton man beat his ex-girlfriend and shoved her out of a vehicle during a fight Tuesday, Huron police said.

Chad Prewitt, 33, is wanted on felony charges of abduction and domestic violence, as well as a misdemeanor theft charge, according to Huron police and court records.

"Prewitt has not been located, and there are warrants for his arrest," Huron police Chief John Majoy said. "Port Clinton PD is assisting us in attempting to locate him."

Prewitt, of the 200 block of Madison St., was a passenger in a car with his ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Cook, 22, of Port Clinton, a Huron police report said..

Ernest Isaac, 18, of Port Clinton, was driving the vehicle, the report said.

Cook and Prewitt were drinking, and Isaac was their designated sober driver. They were on their way home to Port Clinton after attending a concert in Cleveland.

At some point, Prewitt slapped and punched Cook in the face several times while she was in the backseat and he was in the passenger's seat, Cook told police.

The assault continued even as Isaac turned off the highway and headed into Huron, the report said.

Cook later told police she tried to kick Prewitt when he "grabbed her right leg and bit her inside calf area," the report said.

Prewitt choked her with both hands "to the point that she could not breathe," the report said.

"Once at the end of Perry Avenue, (Prewitt) threatened to kill and drown Ms. Cook and Mr. Isaac in the lake," the report said.

Prewitt then demanded Cook get out of the vehicle, which she did. He was charged with theft because he refused to return Cook's keys and personal belongings as he forced her out of the car, the report said.

She shouldn't have burned dinner.

He bit her?

b2011: I doubt that she did nothing, and the article states that she didn't. I can see where the abduction charge came from. It is kind of hard to get away from someone beating the snot out of you in a moving car.

PUNKYDUDE

Women need to be put in their place every now and then.

Sorry, that was intended for the Punk!

Why didn't the "designated driver" witnessing all this just drive straight to a police station?

His drunk friend was too busy beating the crap out of his girlfriend to notice anyway.  Would have saved the police and the taxpayers a whole lot of time and money.

If he lost his "friend" it would have been no great lose anyway.

Oh yeah SR, remove my comment for a personal attack, but leave punkydude's comment up about women needing to be put in their place?  I have read the LAST SR, your rag is now truly a RAG!  Good - bye SR!
