Anyone is welcome to attend. The evening’s keynote speaker is U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Toledo, who represents northern Lucas, Ottawa, Erie, Lorain and Cuyahoga counties.

The banquet serves as one of the organization’s largest fundraisers each year. It also allows members to show appreciation for those who have faithfully supported the organization.

The funds raised will enable the unit to continue the civil rights struggle on the local, state and national levels.

Tickets can be purchased or reserved by calling 419-625-5056. The cost is $40 for adults and $25 for children, and the deadline to get a ticket is Monday.

And sandtown419 throws out the first racebaiter comment.

NAACP is the same as the KKK.
Neither group is worth listening to unless your in to stirring up the racial divide further.

santown419

Are you serious or just dumb. All these racist commemts. You have to be just dumb.

deertracker

Agreed!

Put America 1st

Sandtown419 - individuals like babycakes, erie and margartaville are ignorant and stupid but just plain bigots. Anyone of any nationality can join the NAACP, attend a meeting or go to the banquet compare to the KKK. But do not tell them that, facts will only get in the way.

Start working at home with Google! Its by-far the best job Ive had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. Useful Reference http://ow.ly/pAu07

Bottom Line

Exactly. But I can't wait to hear the excuses why one is okay and necessary while your idea is racist and hateful.

Tired Of The Bull

The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) was formed in an attempt to give minorities a voice, to defend those who were victims of discrimination, and to uphold civil liberties. Let's not forget why this association HAD to be formed in the first place!!!!

Seems to me that discrimination has since been reversed.....

Seems to me that discrimination hasn't been entirely reversed, since a goodly number of Republicans who hate Obama, hate him most because he is black. Racism is alive and well in the teaparty, to be sure (it's one of their defining characteristics).

And even if you don't believe that is true, it is quite obvious that a large portion of the GOP's continued efforts to disenfranchise inner city voters is a direct targeting of minorities, whom they know are likely to vote Democrat.

Darwin's choice

Wrong, troll, they dislike him because of his failures.

60% of Americans would fire all members of Congress and Obama.....!

Erie County Resident

@ toastedbrain I hate to tell you but this has nothing to do with your Hopey Changey Clowns color. I hate him because of his liberal socialist agenda. He is destroying our country with the help of the Demoncraptic party and the liberal media lapdogs that report no facts just his propaganda.

deertracker

@coaster
Agreed!

SamAdams

I don't hate Obama because he's black. I hate him because he's RED!

If I hated Obama because he's black, I wouldn't have supported Herman Cain's campaign. If I was a white supremecist, I wouldn't be busy criticizing John Boehner's all too frequent bonehead moves (actually, bad example; Boehner's more orange than white). Okay, I wouldn't be busy criticizing Lindsey Graham or Mitch McConnell.

I focus on POLICIES, not skin color or even personality (I'm pretty sure I'd think Obama was a narcissistic a$$hat no matter his appearance). And Obama's policies are abysmal! I lump John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi into the same group (I don't want to seem anti-male, after all). Oh, wait. Aren't those last three WHITE? You gotta hate when those accusations of racism don't quite work out for you, don't you? Of course, when you've got NOTHING else...

deertracker

I have no idea what is in your head or heart but if policies were the real issue, how could you support Herman Cain? What policy of his was so alluring? What makes Obama a narcissist or an azzhat? I don't see it. This man has done everything and more to become and qualify for the POTUS yet can't get an ounce of respect so exactly what is one to think?

VOTENO

NAACP = National Association for the Advancement of Colored People! People of color, not necessarily black!

Ned Mandingo

The same reason is shouldn't exist anymore. Have you never heard of affirmative action that discriminates against white people.

8ballinthesidepocket

Try the NFL and NBA! Doesn't look like affirmative action for whites worked, where is the class action law suit? Oh dats right, whites can never be discriminated against can they.

Put America 1st

To add to your wonderful point which went over the usual bigots heads on this board. ANYONE can join the NAACP.

an·y·one (n-wn, -wn)
pron.
Any person.

Usage Note: The one-word form anyone is used to mean "any person." The two-word form any one is used to mean "whatever one (person or thing) of a group." Anyone may join means that admission is open to everybody. Any one may join means that admission is open to one person only. When followed by of, only any one can be used: Any one (not anyone) of the boys could carry it by himself. · Anyone is often used in place of everyone in sentences like She is the most thrifty person of anyone I know. In an earlier survey 64 percent of the Usage Panel found this sentence unacceptable in writing. · Anyone and anybody are singular terms and always take a singular verb.

LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!

Bottom Line

Groups like this simply pour gasoline on the dwindling racism fire. Because without racism, these groups serve no purpose... Darwin said what most of us know is true.

NAACP is no longer an organization that upholds civil rights, it is a shill for the progressive agenda. Any organization that bans Deneen Borelli is pathetic.

Tired Of The Bull

About a week ago I was waiting at a red light and a guy rolled down his window and called me the "n" word for no reason!!!! I could go on and on.... So are you really saying that racism and discrimination doesn't exist anymore!!!! Are you freaking serious!!!!

Darwin's choice

It's very much alive, and being perpetuated by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson almost daily.....

Tired Of The Bull

Believe it or not, I agree with you....they have their own agenda!!! But please don't put it all on them!!!!
