Jason Copsey was sentenced Thursday morning to five years behind bars for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl.

The girl and her mother appeared at the sentencing in Huron County Common Pleas Court. The mother gave an emotional statement to the court saying that her daughter's life will never be the same.

Copsey also gave a statement and apologized. He said that he has mental problems and it's taken him a long time to admit to them.

Judge James Conway felt that, in spite of that admission, Copsey still deserved to get the maximum sentence of five years for the sexual battery conviction.

Five years, really? that's all you get for emotionally and mentally destroying a little girl?

Yes, Mr. Copsey. Blame a mental illness that you most likely do not posess. How about producing some medical records? And THEN maybe you can blame something else instead of taking some personal accountability for being a pervert.

Ruin a kid's life and only get 5 years. Worthless trash. Maybe he'll do the world a favor and die in prison.
