Mucci and a former friend had been exchanging antagonistic texts and phone calls over the past week, regarding some owed money and a woman, according to an Erie County deputy’s report.
That dispute escalated Saturday at about 6 p.m., when the other man went to Mucci’s house to fight.
Mucci met the man in his yard, flipped off the safety and held his .22-caliber handgun to the man’s chest, the report said. The man pushed the handgun away and taunted Mucci, saying “if you’re going to shoot me, shoot me,” the report said.
Mucci allegedly lifted the gun to his chest again, and put his finger on the trigger. In his words, Mucci “got tense, but couldn’t do it,” the report said.
When his former friend called him a coward, Mucci wheeled around and loosed one round toward a large tree, the report said.
Deputies arrived about 10 minutes later and ordered Mucci out of his house at gunpoint, the report said.
Deputies also located an alleged marijuana pipe while searching the home for Mucci’s firearm.
Mucci was taken to the Erie County jail and held without bond.
