Mufasa Young, 18, of the 500 block of Madison St., was charged with assault, a fifth-degree felony.

Teens started fighting inside the detention home’s common area at about 9:30 a.m., Erie County Sheriff Paul Sigsworth said.

Several justice center employees rushed to intervene, and in the process one of them was hit in the head and another in the shoulder, Sigsworth said.

Why is an 18 yr. old in the juvenile system?

Bottom Line

Sadly, that's the most intelligent question you've ever asked.

Is that your final answer?

Deertracker, the Department of Youth Services holds kids from 18 all the way to their 21st birthday. So to answer your question why, because they were ajudicated before they turned of age or to adult status and the facility holds them there because you can't just send some one back to county because they are 18 now. I dont agree with the policy but thats the policy and it won't be changing anytime soon.

Thank you for the intelligent response Tru Grit! See how easy that was Bottom Line?

I know the family, and they are nothing but trouble. I'm surprised to see they are back in the area. I thought they had moved back to Detroit where they originally came from. His father will now claim that someone was picking on Mufassa, then they will sue. Its always the same old story with them.

That's funny. A friend of mine was reading the newspaper yesterday in front of me, he is a retired cop and he said "here is one, I used to arrest his father all the time" I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree!

he said she said

and I thought it was horrible of me to think family reunion when Michael Milner's family was in jail with him...
