Police: Bicyclist hits tractor-trailer, dies

A Willard man died Tuesday after his bicycle collided into a tractor-trailer on Walton Avenue, Willard police said.

Roy Kilgore, 67, was transported to Mercy Willard Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Kilgore was riding a bicycle when at about 11:30 a.m. he exited the Blossom Center and struck the rear of a passing tractor-trailer, police said. He was ejected from the bike.

The tractor-trailer was headed east on Walton Avenue. Police said the crash remains under investigation.

Too many cycling deaths lately, this area known as Vacationland needs to start working harder to make it a more bike friendly community. Plenty of visitors use bikes as means of transportation.

No bicyclist just need to obey traffic laws like their supposed to. Instead of blowing red lights, weaving through waiting traffic, cutting people off when turning left and not signaling at all!
