Sandusky firefighters rushed to a blaze at 622 W. Osborne St. just after 11 a.m. Thursday.

They called for mutual aid as they approached the brick apartment complex and fire alarms blared.

It took about 20 minutes for firefighters to knock down the fire, which originated in one of the lower apartments. All the residents of the complex had escaped — one man out his bedroom window — but firefighters did make one rescue: Buster the bunny.

They found the white rabbit and returned him into the loving arms of his family. He's a little ashy, but he seemed OK.

Hey, did anyone find my lucky rabbit's foot?

Glad this is considered "news worthy".

Does anyone have a good hossenfeffer recipe?

You just can't be a "gal".   You are way too cold hearted about everything.   : /

WhatTheHeck

Does Elmer Fudd have a speech impediment ?

"That Waskley Wabbit" lives in Sandusky?

Kottage Kat

Glad Buster is OK, and a good brushing with baking soda will fix the "ashey"and the smoke smell.

At least he did not have to be taken to the ECHS where he might have been put down. I'm really upset that they had to put down those kittens. What is wrong with the ECHS don't they see that Amy Porter cared about animals not like the Vet who put them down. If is's the same vet that I had about 10 years ago where I got my cat spayed. My cat did not like him he hissed and arched his back at him, my son had to go and get him out of the cage so we could take him home. I have not been back since that happened to my cat. I like vets who take pride and care in taking care of pet and not putting them down just to get rid of them instead of finding them homes. Enough said

Curley,

If you took your male cat to be spayed, I am sure the cat would not have liked it, no matter who the doctor was.

Moral of the story, never go back into a burning apartment to retrieve your Trix.

Wabbit stew?

Interesting "that_guy" questions the authenticity of this being news worthy. Hmm, I'm going to have to say YES! What else would you like the SR to report on?! Let's see, the weather, no, that's no surpise it's Ohio, it snows in the winter. How about national news headlines? No, we're too wrapped up with our own little corner of society to worry about the big picture. Let me also say, let's see you rescue anything from a burning building?! My guess is your insecurity won't allow you to fight your way out of a wet paper bag!!!

Don't move to Milan, poor rabbit's liable to get shot at!!!
