Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technology Centers students performed local acts of community service this past week in honor of 9/11 victims, their families and heroic acts of public service employees.

The 450 students picked up trash on area highways, cleaned police and fire department vehicles and also delivered baked goods to public service employees.

The annual school-wide day of service started this past year, said instructor Mark King, who helped lead the effort.
