Michael Brumbaugh, 56, crashed his 2003 Harley-Davidson Softail on County Road 294 at about 7:35 p.m., troopers stated in a release. He was flown by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, where he remained Monday evening.

Sandusky County deputies were trying to stop Brumbaugh’s motorcycle when it crashed just south of Ohio 101, according to a deputy’s report.

At about 7 p.m. a caller told dispatchers a naked man was drinking beer while sitting on a motorcycle parked in a church lot at County Road 113 and County Road 177, the report said.

The motorcyclist left the area, but deputies began receiving updates on his whereabouts. They caught up with him near County Road 294 and the Ohio Turnpike.

“We activated the emergency overhead lights and siren, however, the motorcycle did not stop,” the deputy’s report said. “We turned around and advised dispatch of the location the motorcycle was headed.”

Deputies then saw the motorcycle crash, the report said.

Troopers from the Fremont post are handling the crash investigation. According to the Highway Patrol, the motorcycle crossed Ohio 101 and failed to stop at the stop sign before veering out of control and overturning, ejecting Brumbaugh.

Brumbaugh, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered severe head injuries, according to the Highway Patrol. Alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash.

Isn't this the lawyer guy?

He wasn't wearing a helmet, apparently, he wasn't wearing much else either.

Just sad.

The "lawyer guy" you may be thinking of from Sandusky is not quite 56. Although he rides a Harley, I am certain this is not him. Regardless, I wish him a speedy recovery.

He's not the lawyer guy. I know this for sure.
