A Sandusky police officer's fate is now in the hands of city administrators.
Tuesday morning's pre-disciplinary hearing for Officer James DeSalle resulted in a bit of a stalemate with interim police Chief Jim Lang.
The hearing was DeSalle's opportunity to refute accusations that he used chewing tobacco on Nov. 5 while at a domestic call in the 200 block of E. Shoreway Drive.
The incident in question was recorded by a new video camera the police department is testing out on some of its officers.
The camera is worn on the officer, and records footage at eye level.
The recording shows DeSalle talking to people in the home and then stepping out of the home and onto stairs. He is then seen spitting what appears to be brown juice into the air.
When confronted with the video, DeSalle denied the accusations and said he had allergies to a cat in the house.
