About two dozen downtown merchants and restaurants are competing in the contest and offering paper ballots to customers, who are invited to cast their ballots at Mr. Smith's Coffee House, Erik's Clothing for Men or Midnight Moon. One of the people taking time to cast a ballot will win dinner for two at the Water Street Bar & Grille.

About two dozen downtown merchants and restaurants are competing in the contest and offering paper ballots to customers, who are invited to cast their ballots at Mr. Smith's Coffee House, Erik's Clothing for Men or Midnight Moon. One of the people taking time to cast a ballot will win dinner for two at the Water Street Bar & Grille.

Meanwhile, the winning merchant will receive a $1,000 advertising package on the Firelands411.com website, courtesy of the Sandusky Register, which is serving as the sponsor of the contest.
