A 22-year-old Huron man was charged with criminal damaging after slashing the tires on his grandmother’s car during an argument, according to a Huron police report.
Michael LaCourse, of the 100 block of Berlin Road, was also charged with disorderly conduct. Michael’s mother, Sylvia LaCourse, called police at 3 a.m. Wednesday and asked for help in dealing with her intoxicated son, the report said.
Michael had arrived home from a bowling alley drunk and started arguing with his mother, who had actually been charged earlier in the week for fighting with her own mother, Elizabeth Klein, 77, of Sandusky.
Michael returned home upset and talking about his mother’s arrest earlier in the week, so he became enraged at Klein and damaged her vehicle, which she had loaned to Sylvia, according to the report.
“(Michael) used a knife and punctured both passenger side tires on her vehicle,” the report said.
After damaging the vehicle, Michael demanded the car be removed from the property and threatened to damage it further. He was belligerent, rude and refused to calm down, the report said.
He was arrested and placed in a holding cell at Huron Police Department until he sobered up, the report said, and was released the following morning.
