A student at McCormick Junior High in Huron told teachers his grandfather struck him in the ribs before he left for school on Nov. 4, a Huron police report said.
A teacher noticed the 13-year-old boy, a special needs student, was having "an emotional, rough morning" that day, the report said.
The boy said he told his grandfather to "shut the heck up" when he was upstairs, so his grandfather responded by hitting him in the ribs.
The boy and his brother live with their grandparents. He told his teacher he's upset because his grandparents are relocating the boys out of town, a move prompted by an undisclosed incident, the report said.
The boy was very emotional and hesitant to talk about troubles at home. Police forwarded the case to Erie County Childrens Services for investigation.
