The Sandusky post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-skip crash that occurred on U.S. 6 at the Highway Patrol Post.
Mary J. Barnum, 82, of Huron, was driving a 2000 Buick Century, which sustained damage to both right side doors.
Barnum was westbound on U.S. 6 and slowed to turn into the Ohio State Patrol Post. A black, newer-model pickup truck with a ladder rack and ladder was also westbound behind Barnum. As Barnum made a right turn into the post parking lot, the truck swerved off the right side of the road to avoid striking the rear of her vehicle.
The truck struck Barnum's car in the right side then struck the curbing at the driveway entrance to the Highway Patrol Post. Barnum came to rest in the parking lot. The truck, which had an unknown company logo on the side doors, turned backed around and fled eastbound on U.S. 6 toward Sandusky.
The truck should have minor damage and white paint transfer to the left front bumper area.
Barnum did not suffer injuries in the crash.
Anyone with information on the truck is asked to call the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 419-625-6565.
