For the fifth consecutive month, sales tax revenue rose when compared to the same period last year.
The money the county collected in June -- reflected in its September numbers -- was $784,629, a 20 percent increase compared to collections in 2009.
It's the highest monthly collection so far this year -- although revenue in June is typically high because of summertime activities and tourists. It's also the highest since March 2008, according to county records.
If the positive trend continues, commissioners said county workers who took concessions should be able to return to 40-hour weeks soon.
