What started as a call about men shooting at cats ended with men arrested for growing marijuana in their home.

Huron police on Sept. 6 charged brothers Joshua Larson, 19, and Justin Larson, 18, with possession of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana. Another man at their Richland Avenue home, Joseph Dewey, 18, was charged with discharging a firearm in public.

A Rye Beach Road resident told police the men were using an Airsoft BB gun to shoot at cats, but when police arrived they noticed the men smelled like burnt marijuana. Police obtained a search warrant and found marijuana plants growing in a closet inside the Larons' home.

Sounds like gang activitey going on in Huron again.....Teen girl gangs running people over.....now a drug growing ganf....What's next for Huron???

Darkhorse

You have to love this story.   See, Huron has problems also with the drugs.  It is all over.

Guess you should have left those poor cats alone

What about animal cruelty charges?  They've probably been doing this sort of thing for awhile now and have not always missed the cats.

Mr. D:  Did the story about the girls that skipped after hitting the man on the bike infer that they were a gang?  Afraid I didn't get that from the story.  More than likely they were cheerleaders joyriding in Mom's car.  Not that there isn't gang activity in Huron.  It seems that crime travels everywhere..

Mr. D

TO UNASSUMER....

The hit skip story doesn't need to state gang activity....read the definition of gangs in the ORC...

Now here are three future pillars of our society.  Three total losers trying to beat the strain of recession by growing their own.  Of course, if you are going to engage in criminal enterprise, always be sure to get all soaked up on adult beverage and sample your own product so YOU can literally invite LE into your home.  Now here is an example of critical thinking.  I guess the cancer of stupidity is in every city and community.  Good job Huron P.D.

William Jeffers...

The boys purchased the seeds from Chung Lee and they thought they were growing catnip it to lure cats into the area to shoot...and now there dreams of wholesaling to Chinese restaurants has gone...."Up in Smoke".

I agree, they should be charged with some animal cruelty counts.  These youngsters will never amount to anything and they should be locked up.  Unfortunately, brain transplants are not common yet, so jail will have to do.

Wow, I think that is the first time I ever had a comment removed. And there was not any profanity used in the comment.

Where are the animal cruelty charges?   THEY NEED TO BE CHARGED FOR THAT!  Problem with people abusing helpless animals is because they are not punished.....or not punished well enough!   They make me sick!   Takews a BIG MAN to pick on little animals.

When will the pizza and snack food industries start contributing big bucks to NORML and help them lobby DC to get ganja legalized?
