A man suspected of assaulting a Sandusky woman late Friday morning is behind bars. Marques D. Harper, 25, 2000 block Foxborough Court, is charged with felonious assault, burglary, disrupting public service, unlawful restraint and obstructing official business in connection to the incident.
According to a Sandusky police report, Harper entered an ex-girlfriend’s residence in the 1100 block of Wamajo Drive through a bedroom window Friday morning. He woke the woman, and asked her for sex.
Despite initial reports from the Erie County Sheriff's office, which assisted in the search after the suspect was spotted on Larchmont Drive, that the suspect may have had a stab wound, there was no mention of injuries to Harper in the Sandusky police report of Harper's arrest. The woman was treated at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Harper is alleged to have pulled her off the bed, beat and stomped on her, then refused to allow her or her children to leave the house, police said.
An officer at the Erie County Jail said Sandusky Police brought Harper in for booking at 11:51 p.m. Friday. No bond has been set, but Harper is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
