Cedar Point's thrills helped raise more than $32,000 for children at a recent event.

Enthusiasts raised the money during marathon roller coaster rides at Cedar Point and other Cedar Fair parks held July 29 to benefit the Give Kids The World charity.

Roller coaster enthusiasts rode a ride at each park over and over again to raise money for the organization. At Cedar Point, supporters of the effort rode the Gemini.

A similar event was held at Cedar Point in 2009. It expanded to other Cedar Fair parks this year, said Pamela Landwirth, president of Give Kids the World, which pays for Florida vacations for kids with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
